Life at National Schools Partnership

Posted on Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Account Assistant Elysia gives us her take on what it’s like to work here…

“I started at NSP in August 2010, as an intern.  I found the internship through Graduate Talent Pool, and was taken on following a three-stage interview. I had done a short spell of work experience with the BBC marketing department, so NSP offered a great opportunity to extend that.

My first focus was on our Disney Oso Special Missions campaign – writing the copy to get teachers involved, working on timing plans and compiling discussion guides for focus groups.  The rest of the team has always offered plenty of support, and if I had any questions or concerns, my team leader was happy to sit down and talk through things.

I was promoted and taken on as a full staff member – an Account Assistant – in December. With the new role, I was given increased responsibility and got more involved in client meetings and new business pitches.

We are in the middle of the campaign evaluation phase now, reviewing our work in relation to the original objectives.  The start of campaigns are where we can be really creative – when we began the Kids Closer to Nature project for Arla, I contributed ideas such as the nature collages that became part of the end result.  We work with a number of suppliers so I have also gained plenty of experience in briefing and managing the likes of copywriters, printers and designers.

The office atmosphere is professional, supportive and friendly, with monthly company catch-ups and regular get-togethers over drinks at a local pub. Also, NSP participates in several staff benefit initiatives, such as Cyclescheme, season ticket loans and holiday loans.  Overall a great place to work!”
