The Great British Summer

July brought us the NSP company conference, plus the much-anticipated office away day.  The conference gave us the chance to update eachother on recent campaigns and share ideas for the coming months.  Then a delicious dinner and overnight stay at the Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa gave everyone – old hands and a few very recent recruits – a chance to bond.

But what everyone was really waiting for was the following day – with it being July we were feeling optimistic about the chances of sunshine.  Instead, we got most torrential and sustained downpour any of us had seen for years, put together with a very muddy obstacle course and a ‘treasure’ hunt. The local fishermen looked a little bemused to be asked what species they were catching and where we might find a blue banana!  In hindsight, the shocking weather did add to the hilarity of the day, and certainly made for an interesting train ride home amongst the suited and booted commuters…
