Sky Academy Studios
We helped Sky make a difference to young people.
Sky wanted to use their position as Europe’s leading entertainment company to make a difference to young people.
Building key skills like creativity, communication, confidence, resilience, planning and teamwork help young people achieve more at school and improve their chances of success in life. Therefore the focus was to support the development of these skills through the Sky Academy – a set of pioneering learning initiatives that use the power of TV, creativity and sport to unlock potential and build crucial skills, knowledge, experience and aspiration for generations of young people.
We helped Sky create Sky Academy Studios – an interactive experience that invites 8-18-year-olds behind the scenes at Sky to make their own TV reports, linked to topics they are studying at school. Young people are supported by a specialist team and staff volunteers who help them use their skills as they explore topics linked to the curriculum, such as cyber-bullying and natural disasters.
The students found the whole experience incredible; they were thrilled to have the opportunity to work in such a professional environment. It was great for them to learn skills in an actual working situation with such extraordinary technology and equipment.
